Key words for creating tasks

There are some key words you can automatically use to add dates, repeat intervals, priority, and lists when creating tasks. These can also be used in the subject line when emailing tasks to tasks@astrid.com.

Date (case insensitive)

Relative

  • today
  • tomorrow
Absolute, using either use the first 3 letters or the whole word
  • mon, tue, wed, etc.
  • monday, tuesday, wednesday, etc.
  • jan, feb, mar, etc. + date + year (optional)
  • january, february, march, etc. + date + year (optional)

Time

You can name the time of day, e.g., “Jog in the morning” or “Breakfast with Tiffany”

  • breakfast (8am), lunch (12pm), supper (6pm), dinner (6pm), brunch (10am)
  • morning (8am), afternoon (3pm), evening(7pm), night (7pm), midnight (12am), noon (12pm)
…or you can use a specific time
  • 7am, 4:30pm, 10pm
  • 7:00, 16:30, 22:00
  • 7 o’clock

Repeating intervals

You can quickly indicate the repeat interval with words like…

  • daily
  • everyday
  • weekly
  • monthly
  • yearly

…or you can be really specific

  • Every 3 days / every three days
  • Every week
  • Every afternoon
  • Every Friday
  • Every month
  • Every 2 years

For highest priority (red)
