We’re excited to announce Astrid 2.0 for iOS, which includes some really exciting things we’ve been working on and testing internally!
iPad app
Ours users have been asking for an iPad app. But we didn’t want to just deliver a blown up version of our iPhone app. We designed the iPad app from the ground up and to make Astrid a great experience for the iPad.
Users who also manage their lists on Astrid.com will find the look and feel of the iPad app familiar.
Gestures
One of the delightful things about the iOS experience is the smooth, responsive gestures. We’ve also made gestures a bigger part of the Astrid iOS experience.
- Swipe right on a task: postpone by a week
- Swipe left on a task: delete task
- Shake: return to home screen
- Swipe from bottom edge: open add task bar
- Swipe down on an active add task bar: dismisses task bar
- Swipe left on Who picker: make task unassigned
- Swipe right on Who picker: assign task to self
- Swipe left on When picker: remove date
- Swipe right on When picker: quick date picker
- Swipe left on Lists picker: remove list
- Swipe from left edge: open navigation menu
Premium
With Astrid 2.0, we are also officially rolling out our Premium program designed to help our power users be more productive.
File storage – files at your finger tips: Premium users can to attach files from their iOS devices or from the web app at Astrid.com with drag-and-drop uploading. Anyone — Premium or not — who’s shared on the task or list can view the files that a Premium user uploads.
Voice recording – never forget a thought: Attach voice notes to tasks so you can capture thoughts for yourself, your family, or your teammates.
Automatic voice backup: We know speech-to-text is not perfect, and it’s especially annoying when creating tasks on the go. With Premium, the Astrid app will automatically save a recording of your voice and attach it to the task whenever you use voice dictation in the app. Anyone who’s shared on the task can also listen to the voice recording.
Professional dashboard: The premium dashboard includes interactive charts, custom filters and the ability to edit groups of tasks simultaneously. Charts also allow you to track progress on your personal or team projects. You can filter by priority (!!!, !!, !, o), by person or by lists tasks are on. To edit multiple tasks at the same time use the control or shift key to select the tasks you want to change, then make the changes you want to apply to all of them. The Astrid team loves using the professional dashboard to manage our team tasks and we think you’ll love it too!
Web themes – something for everyone: Our engineers love working on a dark screen. If you’re the same way, you’ll love the “true black” available for Premium users.
