The Trouble with Time Zones

I update the due time on my phone, but the time shows up an hour later/earlier on the web.
What’s up?

Time zones are a tricky thing.
Where Astrid is concerned, there are three locations in which time zone settings might be playing tricks with your tasks.

  • Computer settings – make sure the time zone is set correctly and that you have daylight savings active where applicable.
  • Astrid.com settings – click your name in the top-right, select “Settings”, then select “Preferences” on the left.
  • Phone settings – Date and time (usually best to have this set automatically).

In some cases, the phone (Android) may show the time off by an hour due to Daylight Savings.
Example: phone may be set to GMT-07:00, but the computer and Astrid.com will show GMT-08:00.

Take a look and make sure all three of these are set appropriately (keeping in mind the phone may be different due to daylight savings).
